Italian research is very difficult.

There's nothing online apart from a few bits and pieces on the LDS site.

Unless you know the place of birth of the person you're looking for (preferably the parish), it's pretty much a non-starter.

Civil registration began in about 1866, and finding information before that date is even harder.
