Suffolk

County town: Ipswich

Other major towns: Lowestoft, Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds

Constable country is located on the Suffolk/Essex border and is named after John Constable the renowned artist. Another famous artist, Thomas Gainsborough, was born in Sudbury.

The county has many pargeted buildings and thatched cottages painted in shades of Suffolk pink. Although Suffolk is predominantly an agricultural county, it has 50 miles of coastline. The main produce of the county are cereals, sugar beet, and the famous Suffolk Punch breed of working horse.
