Researching the following names.
Butcher - originating in the Thatcham area they moved to Lambeth in 1820's and then onto Hackney in 1850's.
Dibley - originating in Thatcham, moved to Lambeth in early 1800's.
Moore - from Shoreditch, St Luke's, Hackney. The earlier generations were in the watchmaking trade.
Wheeler - from Bethnal Green, Spitalfields area.
My maternal grandparents, Arthur and Hannah Wheeler (nee Webster) c1915
Webster - from Spitalfields, Whitechapel, Bethnal Green. Two of the earliest generations found so far were 'hairdressers/perfumers'
Jones - from Shoreditch. There are a couple of generations of 'James Jones' who are upholsterers. Have come to a halt with this line as James Jones married a Mary Ann at St Leonards, Shoreditch but there are two marriages with the same names in the Parish Records and I can't tell which is the correct one!!
Benzing - probably originating in Germany I've yet to find the link. Christian Benzing married in St Mary's Whitechapel early 1800's. He was a clockmaker.
Piercy - Spitalfields, Bethnal Green. All weavers, family 'legend' is that they were Huguenots but I've yet to find evidence.
And the latest twig on my tree - my first grandchild, Alice!
