Dalserf
Dalserf Parish Church has a long and interesting history, within the graveyard lies an early (pre-Norman) hogsback stone and a memorial to the principle founding member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church the Rev John MacMillan. Sir Winston Churchill also worshipped here when visiting his in-laws in the area. The church building dates to 1655 although the addition of the centre transept and internal galleries are late 19th century. Galleries are found in many Scottish churches, mostly to increase capacity without having to enlarge or rebuild the structure, access to them at Dalserf is provided by three external staircases and the capacity of the church is approximately 400.
