The Forth Rail Bridge submitted by Jilly McMad

The Forth Bridge, the first major steel bridge in the world has over 54,000 tons of steel and 6,500,000 rivets. The bridge, and the connecting railway lines from Inverkeithing and Dalmeny, cost £3,000,000 to build. Work commenced in 1883 and was completed in 1890.
