Italy is a country of diverse culture. From famous car manufacturers to architecture and operas, the Italian influence spreads the world over. The land is fertile and large. Unless you know the place of birth of the person you're looking for (preferably the parish), Tracing a birth is pretty much a non-starter.

Civil registration began in about 1866. Finding information before that date is even more difficult than locating that which is availible after this time.
