William James Crisp b1805 St Clement Danes, London

Grocer of 1 Sydney Place, Commercial Road, Stepney, from at least the time of his marriage in 1827 when he insured his premises with the Sun Fire Office until about 1861 when he retired to Ightham, Kent where his brother had owned property and grew hops on 4 acres. Ended his days in his eldest son William's home in Brockley, Kent.

His children who survived infancy and produced families of their own were:

Maria Crisp b1828 who married silk merchant Robert Thomas. Her daughters Edith b1851 Shoreditch and Helen Constantia b 1853 Shoreditch played an important part in bringing up their sister Emily's son Bertram Offord who was born in the year of his mother's death, 1882.
