Parton

Parton Parish Church built in 1832 to replace the old church of 1752. The grave of James Clerk Maxwell of Glenlair, the famous physicist, is contained within the old ruins. Einstein reckoned Maxwell to be a genius. An old oak pulpit from the church is conserved in the National Museum of Scotland.
