Roscommon is situated in central Ireland and is the only county in the province of Connacht that does not have any coastal shore. Roscommon is also the name of the county town where one can explore the ruins of Roscommon Castle. A peaceful county, of winding lanes and rolling hills, where at Strokestown you can visit the the famine museum, and really feel what it was to have lived through the great famine.
