Ford

St Michael and All Angels stands within the grounds of Ford Castle but predates the larger neighbour by many years. The west wall, south arches and pillars are the only surviving parts of the original thirteenth century church, renovation and rebuilding of the remaining sections took place in the 1850's. A gravestone within the church is said to date from the fourteenth century. In common with many churches in the region access can be made either via the gates or a set of stone steps which climb and fall alongside the gated entrance.
