The Forth Bridge is probably the best known landmark at Fife, the first major steel bridge in the world has over 54,000 tons of steel and 6,500,000 rivets. The bridge, and the connecting railway lines from Inverkeithing and Dalmeny, cost £3,000,000 to build. Work commenced in 1883 and was completed in 1890.
