Italy is a country of diverse culture. From famous car manufacturers to architecture and operas, the Italian influence spreads the world over. The land is fertile and large. Export commodities include tomatoes and grapes, not to mention olive oil which is said to be the best in the world. Italy has given us many famous people from Archimedes, the mathematician, to Gianni Versace, the fashion designer, and a host of others in-between.

Theres very little online relating to births deaths and marriages in Italy, A small amount of info maybe be found on the IGI if you are lucky.

Unless you know the place of birth of the person you're looking for (preferably the parish), Tracing a birth is pretty much a non-starter.

Civil registration began in about 1866. Finding information before that date is even more difficult than locating that which is available after this time.
