Southwark Christ Church

  • The current Christ Church, Southwark dates from 1959 and replaces the former building which was bombed in World War II. The previous building replaced the original one of 1670 which had to be demolished due to subsidence into marshland.
  • Holy Trinity was built in 1824 on land originally owned by Trinity House. The church was declared redundant in 1972, but since 1977 has been the Henry Wood Concert Hall.
