*Although it is possible to change colours and fonts using the codes, please don’t do this as there is a fixed style for the site.

*Some areas will have ready made templates, e.g. the [[Counties_Page_Template]] but if there isn't one for your page, you should follow the [[Help:Contents#Style_Conventions_for_this_Wiki|Style]] established for this wiki.

*Please be aware that anyone else with edit permissions can edit your text. This is reassuring in case you have made a typing error, and it means that information can be updated quickly, but don't be offended if somebody quietly "improves" your grammar or writing style!!

The Family Tree Forum Wiki

This section of the site has been created as a repository for reference information that has previously been stored within threads in the forums. This has had the effect of splitting the site into definitive Reference and Forum sections

Viewing the Wiki

Accessing the information

All underlined blue text is a hyperlink. Some pages are within The Wiki itself, other links will take you to external sites.

Adding Content

All users will have the ability to create and edit (but not delete) pages within the Wiki.

These creations and amendments will be tracked and moderated to ensure conformity with layout as well as preventing undesirable content from remaining on the site.

If you wish to create content, please read the Minibad.jpg The Wiki Guide first to familiarise yourself.

Any content not formatted to the style of the rest of the site will be amended.

Please note that all contributions to Family Tree Forum may be edited, altered, or removed by other contributors. If you don't want your writing to be edited, then don't submit it.

You are also promising us that you wrote this yourself, or copied it from a public domain or similar free resource (see Copyrights for details).
